Carl Locher
Carl Locher (1851–1915) was a Danish painter and a prominent figure in the Skagen Painters, a group of Scandinavian artists who gathered in the late 19th century in the fishing village of Skagen, Denmark. Locher was particularly known for his maritime paintings, capturing ships, harbors, and coastal scenes with great accuracy and atmospheric depth. Born in Flensburg, Locher initially trained as a ship carpenter before studying art at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
